Welcome, and thank you for registering for the 2026 Bozeman Summer Shootout Film & Photo Festival. We are thrilled to see what your team creates this season. The Bozeman Shootout is a community storytelling festival. Through locally made films and photography, created by and for its people, it celebrates the mountain life, culture, and spirit of this community. Your work will ensure that this tradition lives on. 

• Festival submissions need to have a strong tie to the Bozeman community and must be shot and edited during the during the production window of May 1-August 16, 2026.

• If shooting on private property, teams are required to obtain permission and respect the rules and regulations set forth by the owner/business. Accessing their property is a privilege that private landowners/businesses are allowing, and by signing/submitting this registration your team/participants agree to respect it as such. Anyone found to be shooting without permission may be denied admission into the festival.

• If shooting on public lands, teams are expected to follow the Rules and Regulations outlined by the Montana Film Office.

• Film and photo submissions are to be uploaded via Google Drive. Once we receive your registration form, you will receive a confirmation email and link to your team's Google Drive folder. Each team member must also sign and upload the Shootout Submission Agreement, License & Release Form to the team Google Drive folder for your submission to be complete.

• Film length can be 5 minutes or less (.MP4 file format). Photo submissions can be up to 6 images (.jpeg or .png file format). All submissions need to be received by August 16, 2026, by midnight.
