Second Seasonâs Mission is to cultivate community and Big Skyâs mountain culture through education, outreach, and onboarding. It is our goal to help raise awareness and teach valuable mountain life skills to every Big Sky resident and visitor.

Adventure, novelty, humor, and human connection; this 2025 Big Sky Summer Shootout submission by @slippery___slopes and @finleybishop69 has it all. Their film A Day In The Life of Two Kayakers in Big Sky follows their adventures exploring a seldom run section of the South Fork of the West Fork of the Gallatin River. The film won Best Line presented by @bombsnow.

This short Soul Shine documentary not only took 3rd Place LIVE People's Choice Awards and Best Social Commentary Presented by Love Street Media, but it also deeply touched the hearts of our audience and Shootout family.
Now in it's 8th year, Soul Shine brings together the Big Sky community to celebrate the loving memory of locals Mark Robin, Eric Bertelson and helps raise funds and awareness to support families still living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). This film was produced by local creatives and Soul Shine family members @micah.robin and @bella.butler_.

Mark your calendars, grab the kiddos and join us for the Big Sky Safety Fair at the Farmers Market on August 13th.
The Big Sky community is invited to an engaging and educational evening at the Big Sky Safety Fair, taking place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the East end of the Big Sky Farmers Market—right next to The Wilson Hotel and Town Center Plaza.
We are collaborating with the Big Sky Fire Department, Madison County Public Health Department, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, and the US Forest Service to raise awareness and teach a variety of valuable safety skills through this free, fun and inclusive experiential event.
The highlight of the evening is a Bike Rodeo—This fun, all ages, skills based event teaches riders the basics of bicycle safety, from helmet fittings and brake checks to obstacle course challenges and traffic rule navigation. Participants will walk away with greater confidence, better bike-handling skills, and valuable knowledge that makes cycling safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
“We are excited for the Safety Fair collaboration and this first activation of the summer. The Second Season platform is designed to offer users a free series of inclusive experiential learning in safe/fun environments to raise awareness and develop an embodied practice of mountain life skills. This is a great way to pass on some of these skills early on to the next generation of Big Sky.” - Erik Morrison, CEO, Second Season Co.
“This event is a powerful example of collaboration among our public safety partners, bringing the community together to connect, engage, and share meaningful moments with local kids and families." - Sheriff Springer, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office
Additional Activities Include:
â Learn about and get a free Wildfire Action Guide
â Design your free Second Season Pass and enter giveaway
â Child car seat installation demonstrations
â Meet-and-greets with local Sheriff Deputies, Fire Fighters, USFS & Smokey The Bear, and tour their fire engines/cruisers

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” - Einstein
This film “A Little Imagination” by @skylabmediahouse took home đĨ for the People’s Choice Awards at this season’s Winter Shootout. As kids we used to dream with our toys. Now we’re living those dreams in the mountains. What starts in imagination doesn’t have to stay there.
